Home Library Service
Delivering the library to your door
Who is eligible
The Home Library Service is a free service that delivers items from our collection to people who have difficulty visiting their local library.
To become a Home Library Service member you must live within the town boundaries (urban zone) of the local government areas of Dubbo Regional Council, Narromine Shire Council, or Warrumbungle Shire Council, and be unable to visit the library because of:
- Poor health or immobility
- Living with a disability
- Frailty or age
- Living in a care facility
- Caring for someone
Delivery is only available to residences within town boundaries. If you live outside of the delivery zone, we can select items for you based on your preferences to be picked up by a friend, relative or care organisation staff.
What we offer
Tell us what you enjoy and we will choose library items based on your preferences and deliver them to you.
Members of our Home Library Service can borrow a range of items from the library's collection including:
- books in standard or large print
- audiobooks
- music CDs
- DVDs
- magazines
- reading material in languages other than English
How to join
Contact your local library to request this service. We will get back to you as soon as possible to determine your eligibility, discuss your borrowing preferences, and arrange a day and time to deliver your items.
